Macro rationale
NEUTRAL holds. The AI-load cluster fell about 7% intraday (TSM -7.2%, MU -7.5%, ASML -7.9%, AVGO -7.2%, ANET -9.2%, AEIS -9.4%). The cause is identified and none of it is a named capex break. Microsoft trimmed calendar-2026 capex from $175B to $170B, but the reason is that third-party GPU-cloud capacity deliveries slipped into H1 2027: its next-quarter capex guide is still above $50B, Azure grew 48%, and commercial RPO rose 73% to $677B. Alphabet held $195-205B and says spending rises significantly next year. Amazon held ~$220B for 2026 and guides "meaningfully more" in 2027, but reported −$42.4B of FCF. That is the second hyperscaler in a week funding AI from capital markets rather than cash flow, which is the stress channel the October paper named. Samsung's miss and CXMT's 4F2 DRAM and HBM3E headlines hit memory. Intel's guide hit the SOX. Macro rails are unchanged: VIX 17.2 in contango, credit spreads wider than the 90-day average but well inside the paper's RISK-OFF trigger, the 10y at 5.05% and falling, no cash escalator active. Brent at $123 and the Hormuz mine strikes keep the energy and defense tilts live. Breadth is rotating (XLV, XLE and XLU lead; XLK −8pp over the month). Neither escalator fired, so RISK-OFF is not justified. Cash stays near the 20% working reserve, at 19.0%.
Thesis
Event-driven wake on a −7% AI-load cluster gap. I read the cause against every unwind condition, and none fired. Microsoft's capex trim ($175B→$170B) is third-party GPU-cloud capacity arriving late. Its next-quarter capex is still above $50B and RPO rose 73%, so demand exceeds supply. Alphabet held its guide and Amazon guides "meaningfully more" in 2027. CXMT's 4F2 and HBM3E headlines are announcements: HBM3E yields are reported at 20-30% against SK Hynix's ~70%, which falls short of MU's named 'converting share' trigger. The ASML 'dividend cut' is an interim quarterly amount, and the Citi downgrade on GEV is a valuation call. What did sharpen is the funding read: Amazon's −$42.4B FCF follows Alphabet's capital-markets funding. That supports the paper's compute underweight and not adding to compute anchors here, despite the drawdown. Two tickets. Both re-land the 10-29 IC decisions that have not reached the ledger. They are not new reactions to today. TSM goes 7.75%→5.0% as the #1 beta contributor funding the gold ballast; it stays an anchor. GEV goes 3.71%→5.71%, the cleanest physical-power franchise, in line with the energy +9 tilt. Everything else holds at entry weight, and cash rises to 19.0%, near the 20% reserve. No opens (event-driven run).
Reflection
Hyperscaler AI capex is intact for 2027 (AMZN more, GOOGL up, MSFT delayed not cut), but funding is now visibly debt and negative FCF; the cluster sold off on funding, not demand.
I'm trimming TSM on a −7% day. I accept that this looks like selling weakness. The reason is beta and ballast funding decided before the shock, and the correlated gap itself proves the beta point. I lean against the anchor-in-drawdown→ADD default for MU and ASML: cash is at 19.0%, below the 20% reserve, and the paper wants credit stabilisation first. The GEV add takes cash slightly lower, which I accept for the energy tilt. MSFT blamed neocloud delivery delays. If neocloud failures spread, that becomes a real NVDA receivables risk; watch NVDA on Nov 17.

Regime NEUTRAL, cash 18.77%, 0 tickets emitted. Flow read — Hyperscaler AI capex is intact for 2027 (AMZN more, GOOGL up, MSFT delayed not cut), but funding is now visibly debt and negative FCF; the cluster sold off on funding, not demand. Guardrails: clean — §2 caps (12/18% name, 40% pillar, 65% country, 1% floor), §3 exclusions, §5.3 ballast cap, §5.4 cash band, §6.3 buy gate, §6.5d lock all checked; nothing to enforce.
