Macro rationale
NEUTRAL, unchanged. No cash escalator is firing. VIX is 19.42 (+6.4% vs its 200d) with VIX3M contango at 0.93. High-yield spreads are wider than their 90-day average but well short of the stress trigger. QQQ is +2.3% vs its 200d with weekly RSI 48, so the market is not extended, and SPY is +4.2%. The tape is a stagflation barbell. Over one month energy is +10.4pp vs SPY, utilities +10.0pp and health care +11.8pp, while tech is −8.8pp. Equal-weight is beating cap-weight by 6pp. Brent is $108-123 and whipsawing: Iran offered a two-day Hormuz reopening plan, but vessel strikes continued on Nov 1-2 and transits remain near zero. OPEC+ held December output and deferred the 2027 quota decision to Nov 29. The 10y is 4.98% (−31bp over 20 days) and the real yield 2.63%. Long duration is hedging equities again, which is the paper's growth-scare-on-inflation read. Q3 hyperscaler prints confirmed demand: AWS +39% with >40% guided for 2027-28, Google Cloud +103%, capex held at $195-205B and $220B. The funding layer keeps deteriorating, though: Alphabet's quarterly FCF was negative and Amazon's trailing FCF is deeply negative. That supports the paper's compute underweight and its energy/defense overweight. Midterms (Nov 3), payrolls (Nov 6) and CPI (Nov 10) are the near dated tests. Cash stays at the 19-20% NEUTRAL top. The metals ballast is at posture (GLD 4.83% vs 5%).
Thesis
This is the weekly IC and the book is re-affirmed, apart from one pair that has not yet landed. The 10-29 IC and the 10-30 event run both decided TSM 7.75%→5.0% and GEV 3.71%→~5.7%. The ledger still shows the old entry weights, so I am writing them once more with exact weights. TSM is the largest book-beta contributor (7.75% × 1.53). Moving that weight into GEV, the cleanest physical-power franchise, expresses the paper's compute underweight and energy overweight. TSM stays an anchor: no §6.5 break, Q3 revenue +41% at ~70% GM. Q3 hyperscaler prints confirmed demand (AWS +39% with >40% guided, Cloud +103%, capex held), while FCF went negative at both Alphabet and Amazon. That is a funding read, and it argues against adding compute. Everything else holds at entry weight. VRTX and AEIS report tonight; KTOS, ANET, BKNG and BEAM report tomorrow. Nothing in their run-up gives a reason to change weights ahead of the prints. VRTX's povetacicept PDUFA on Nov 30 is the next biology catalyst. Bench review, no opens: GOOGL (sit-out, FCF negative, EPS miss), AMZN (FCF deeply negative), XLF (the single-pillar ETF rule; CME covers exchanges), VRT (doubles AI-capex exposure, would push cash under the reserve), NXPI (Q4 guide miss, humanoid revenue immaterial), AMAT (semicap duplicate, Nov 12 print), PBF (refiner with no moat at peak cracks, which the paper says to avoid), APPN (takeover hope), SLV (re-entry window, ballast at posture). For mid-caps I looked at PBF, APPN, NXPI and VRT, and no
Committee
Financials are the book's blind spot: we hold 0% in the sector, and every current return driver is a pillar or AI-adjacent. I'm nominating XLF as a general / durable_value position for three reasons: (1) diversification — a genuinely separate return driver for the ≥5-driver check that adds nothing to the AI-load cluster; (2) rates — a steeper 2s10s and a higher-for-longer front end support bank net interest margins; (3) valuation — my read is financials still trade at a discount to the market on forward earnings; verify that against current data before acting. I know STRATEGY §4 permits sector ETFs only where they map to one pillar, and XLF maps to none. Weigh that openly: if you judge the rule binds, say so and name the individual financial franchise you would rather own instead. A starter position is enough. This is a view to answer, not an order.

Reflection
AI capex demand is confirmed by Q3 prints (AWS +39%, Cloud +103%), but the funding is now negative FCF and debt; capital keeps rotating to energy, utilities and health care.
Operator XLF: I stand by my answer. The single-pillar ETF rule binds, CME covers exchanges, and MS is my franchise nominee, though its flow is now reversing (Temasek −67%). GOOGL: I sit it out again. FCF is negative and EPS missed, so I'll revisit if FCF turns positive. AMZN: pass for the same reason. TSM→GEV fails to land a third time; I'm re-writing exact weights. I am knowingly trimming an anchor without a §6.5 break, on beta and tilt grounds. Temasek's Q3 GEV trim (−32%) is the one funder signal against the add. I weigh it below orders +96%.

For mid-caps I looked at PBF, APPN, NXPI and VRT, and no Flow read — AI capex demand is confirmed by Q3 prints (AWS +39%, Cloud +103%), but the funding is now negative FCF and debt; capital keeps rotating to energy, utilities and health care. Guardrails: clean — §2 caps (12/18% name, 40% pillar, 65% country, 1% floor), §3 exclusions, §5.3 ballast cap, §5.4 cash band, §6.3 buy gate, §6.5d lock all checked; nothing to enforce.
